_ DOL 11730-XA-S0001, M8931-YA Module DEC 84

  PROBLEM: When adding the H7750 Battery Backup option on the 11730XA, 
  an M8391-YA variant of the memory controller module is required.

  CORRECTION: Replace the M8391 MCT module with the M8391-YA module.

  IN-PLANT EFFECTIVITY: JUN 84

  FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Any 11730XA System building block kernel with the 
  H7750 Battery Backup option will require the new M8391-YA module. The 
  M8391-YA, Part Revision "A1" should be added to all spares kits. (Kits 
  need both modules.)  The Revision of the KA730 contained in the 
  11730XA will change in accordance with the Revision Chart on page 2 of 
  this FCO.
  
  QUICK CHECK: Slot 6 of the 11730-A backplane has an M8391-YA 
  module.

  The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test
  the FCO at the then current hourly rate.

  PROBLEM: 1. 11730 systems using the FCC Unibus Cable or
  systems with heavily loaded Unibuses may exhibit a
  thrashing problem on power up.  2. The console code does
  not meet the Unibus spec for sampling ACLO after
  deassertion 
  
  FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Retrofit all 11730 systems which exhibit
  the problems indicated below.  This FCO incorporates ECO
  M8394-MK013 and brings the system to Revision 02. 
  
  QUICK CHECK: On M8394 module, E54 is P/N 23-154F2-00.

  PROBLEM: For the VAX 11/730 package systems 1 and 2, this CPU-I/O Sextal Plate
  is required for the proper mounting of the following cables: 1. All TU80 cables
  . 2. FCC shielded Unibus cables. 
  
  CORRECTION: Replace the existing CPU-I/O Sextal Plate Part Number 
  74-26405-04 with the revised Assembly Part Number 70-26405-06. 
  
  IN-PLANT EFFECTIVITY: Oct 83 
  
  FIELD EFFECTIVITY: All VAX 11/730 packaged systems 1 amd 2 that use
  a TU80, an FCC shielded unibus cable or a TS11 with a shielded unibus cable
  require this new CPU-I/O Sextal Plate. All VAX 11/730's maunfactured
  after October 1st, 1983 will already contain this new panel. 
  
  QUICK CHECK: Part Number of the CPU-I/O panel assembly is 70-19624-01.

  operating in the turn-around mode without a modem.

  experience DMF32 noise problems. Note, this FCO consists of the 
  following ECO: 11730Z-00002.
