Perform normal operating system shutdown procedures. · Power-Off the system power. · Disconnect and lock-out the system from AC power source(s). · Refer to the VAX 9000 Family System Maintenance Guide for LOCK-out/TAG-out safety procedures. 2. Open the rear door of the BI Expander cabinet and remove the four screws that hold the blower air duct and then remove the air duct. 3. Locate the D-Card (54-17961-01) that is attached to the MPS Backplane of each BI Expander Cabinet. 4. Remove the four cables connected to the D-Card. J1 - 17-02593-0X BI Expander to I/O RIC J7 J3 - 17-02509-0X BI Expander to SIP J2/J10 J4 - 17-01148-02 D-Card to MPS Backplane J6 J6 - 17-01148-01 ILM to D-Card 5. Remove the two screws that secure the D-Card to the MPS Backplane. Replace the D-Card with one new one supplied in the FCO Kit. Re-Install the two screws that hold the D-Card to the MPS Backplane. 6. Re-install the four cables removed earlier from the D-Card. 7. Replace the air duct and secure it in place with the four screws removed earlier. 8. Close the BI Expander cabinet door and restore power to the system. Initialize the system and perform the normal system startup procedures. 9.
