_ DEC-O-LOG for CI750 _ DOL, CI750-R00C1, CI750-R-0D1, L0101 Module OCT 85 PROBLEM: The following functional problem was discovered in the VAX Cluster testing: FCO CI750-R00B1 V3.0 microcode introduced "MISC. ERROR TYPE 12 & 13 (hex B & C)", in variance with CI-Arch. specification. This resulted in VMS CI-PORT RE-INITS errors. IN-PLANT EFFECTIVITY: APR 84 FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Retrofit all CI750's to Revision level "C1". The minimum acceptable Revision levels in spares stock are: L0101 Etcg Revision "A", Part Revision "H1". This FCO incorporates the following ECO: L0101-TW006. CORRECTION: Release of V4.0 CI-MICROCODE. QUICK CHECK: Presence of the L0101 Module at Revison "H1". The console media must also have REV-4 CI780.BIN on it. The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test the FCO at the then current hourly rate. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Retrofit all CI750's to Revision Level "D1". QUICK CHECK: The console media must have Rev 5 CI750.BIN on it. Refer to Appendix A on page 6 or Appendix B on page 7 for the verification procedures The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test the FCO at the then current hourly rate. Numerous Functional Errors (Arbitration Timeout", "internal queue retry error"). 2. Need a variable sanity timer. 3. Fix "BUFFER LENGTH VIOL.", potential DATAGRAM FREE_Q corruption and theoretical BUFFER ambiguity by checking "valid" bit when using cached BUFF_DESC. 4. "Sanity Timer/ARB_To" V6.0 CI_ucode Cluster hang problem. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Retrofit CI750s to Revision Level "E1". This FCO incorporates ECO L0101-MK009. Field spares stock should also be upgraded. FCO upgrades L0101 Part Rev to "J1" and CI780 MICROCODE TO V7.0. FCO implementation is no longer restricted. L0118 (and L0100 Rev. E*) corrects adjacent-node collision and ARB problems. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: The L0118 Rev. B* module should be installed on all CI750, CI780, CIBCI and HSCXX nodes used in VAXclusters of 6 (Six) or more CI/HSC nodes connected to a common SC008 Star Coupler. L0118s should replace all L0100 Rev. D* link modules; L0100 Rev. E* can coexist with L0118s except in greater than 16 node environment. QUICK CHECK: Check that the link module is part number L0118. This revised FCO supersedes Rev. A released 02 June 1988. It has been revised to correct an error in the Revision Chart located on page 3, concerning the L0101 module. The L0100 Rev E. cannot be used when the cluster is over 16 nodes or contains an HSC60/90. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: When installing a 9XXX or 65XX system with a CIXCD or when upgrading an existing cluster with a CIXCD, replace ALL L0100 Rev "D" modules with L0118-** or L0100 Rev "E" modules (if available).
