Two kits are available differing only in AC input voltage selection. Contents of EQ-01577-02 and EQ-01577-03: FCO kit EQ-01577-02 provides an updated MUXserver 100 assembly configured for 120 Volt AC operation. Kit contents for EQ-01577-02 are as follows: QUANTITY PART NUMBER DESCRIPTION -------- ----------- ------------------- (1) 70-24216-02 MUXserver 100, 120V (1) FA-04904-02 FCO Document FCO kit EQ-01577-03 provides an updated MUXserver 100 assembly configured for 240 Volt AC operation. Kit contents for EQ-01577-03 are as follows: QUANTITY PART NUMBER DESCRIPTION -------- ----------- ------------------- (1) 70-24216-01 MUXserver 100, 240V (1) FA-04904-02 FCO Document Co-requisite for this FCO: DFMZA-F002 (REV D1) must be installed on all attached DECmux II units and software must be upgraded to V2.3 for this FCO to be effective. The following are the steps to follow when installing this FCO. 1. Obtain Customer permission to remove the MUXserver 100 from service. 2. Verify that the designated Network Manager has recorded all server parameters and is prepared to return the server to its initial configuration following the hardware upgrade. Connect a terminal to the supervisor port of the MUXserver 100. At the Local> prompt enter the following commands to show composite port and map characteristics. Record these parameters now for use in step 9. **NOTE**: Refer to the MUXserver 100 Network Reference Manual (EK-DSRZA-RM) for additional information on MUXsever 100 commands. Enter Username> USERNAME Local> SET PRIV Password> ??????? (Password will not echo) Local> COM COM> SYSTEM (This command will display composite link parameters. Record the current value of each parameter and press to view the next field.) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | | | | | | | | | | FCO DSRZA-F002 |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| | |_|_|_|_|_|_|_| | PAGE 3 OF 4 | _______________________________|_________________________________________ COM> MAP (Record current MAP) Multiplexer port map Mux.: B2-___ Self-Master-up _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A1-___ Port: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Conn: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 3. Power off the MUXserver 100 and remove the power cord from the electrical outlet. ************************************** * CAUTION * * Remove all power from the device * * before proceeding. * ************************************** 4. Mark and remove the cables from the MUXserver 100. 5. Physically remove the MUXserver 100. 6. Install the appropriate version MUXserver 100 upgrade and replace all cables that were removed in step 4. (Refer to page 2 for the correct kit number). **NOTE**: If the MUXserver 100 uses the RS422 long line driver option, it will be necessary to set internal switches. For more information refer to the MUXserver 100 Network Reference Manual (EK-DSRZA-RM). 7. Make sure that the designated Network Manager has entered the Ethernet address of the new unit into the load host database (MSVACONFIG.DAT) before proceeding to the next step. For more information see the MUXserver 100 Remote Terminal Server Software Installation Guide. 8. Plug the AC power cord into the appropriate AC outlet and switch on power. Verify that the unit passes self-test by observing the green light on the back of the unit. Successful self-test is indicated by a constant green light about 20 seconds after power has been switched on. 9. Use the SYSTEM command to enter the composite port parameters recorded in step 2. Use the MAP command to verify that the system has configured correctly. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | | | | | | | | | | FCO DSRZA-F002 |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| | |_|_|_|_|_|_|_| | PAGE 4 OF 4 | _______________________________|_________________________________________ Use the TEST command to verify correct operation of the composite link ports. 10. Return the server to the designated Network Manager for reconfiguration.
