_ DOL, FP750-R0002, VAX 750 Floating Point Accelerator AUG 84

PROBLEM: The high failure rate of  FP750 (EPA) is due to Q1 failures; 
this may also cause errors in the rest of the CPU: DPM/MIC Micro-diagnostic 
Errors, Boot problems, etc. 

CORRECTION: Changing the Bias Resistors on the Q1. 

IN-PLANT EFFECTIVITY: SGO: All modules shipped on or before March 2, 
1984 will have incorporated the ECO L0001-TW004. BTO, GAO: All modules 
shipped on or  before March 23, 1984 will have this FCO 
incorporated. 

FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Retrofit all FP750's to Revision 2. The minimum 
acceptable Revision level of modules in spares stock are: L0001 Etch 
Revision "C" Part Revision "E2" and L0001 Etch Revision "D" Part 
Revision "E1". 

QUICK CHECK: Presence of the L0001 Resistor R30 as 75; part is above 
Q1 and left of E54. 

The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test
the FCO at the then current hourly rate.
