FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Retrofit all CI Internal Cable Assemblies, (P/N 70-19860), from Rev "B1" to Rev "C1" by adding the CI-Ferrite Bead Assembly (P/N 70-22518-01). QUICK CHECK: Verify that the CI Internal Cable Assembly is at minimum Rev "C1" OR verify that the Ferrite Bead Assembly has been installed on Receive A and Receive B Internal Coaxial Cables. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Changing the chassis slide brackets will bring the BA11 box to the same potential as frame ground which will help reduce the adverse effects of the noise generated by the Power Supply. The foam will loosen and block the air exhaust path. This greatly reduces cooling capability, and, can result in CPU overheating. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: VAX8600 systems built prior to 10 June 1985. Installation of this FCO, will help reduce the possibility of the air muffler foam loosening and blocking the air exhaust path. QUICK CHECK: Air muffler, P/N 12-21974-01, should be at Rev. B. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: VAX86XX systems with Constant Voltage Transformers (CVTs), at Revision A or B and systems without CVTs installed in Front End Cabinet. An overvoltage condition can exit in Revision A,B,C,D,and E, CVTs. Some Revision F CVTs might experience noise problems. Revisions A and B do NOT have circuit breakers. Revisions C,D,E and F CVTs HAVE circuit breakers accessible at the back of the CVT. Revisions A,B and all systems without CVTs, will be replaced with Revision H.
