SEP 90 - PROBLEM: 1. Firmware Spec too Complex for the Open
Systems Environment. 2. TURBOChannel Modules Lift Out of
System I/O  Connectors. 3. Excessive Resistance Build-up in
the 5V Power Connector.

FIELD EFFECTIVITY: All DECstation 5000/Model 200
Workstations and Servers containing KN02-AA CPU's
manufactured before 27-AUG-1990 including but not limited to
the following:  PM361-BD, -BE, -BG, -BH, -BK, -BL, -MD, -ME,
-MG, -MH, -MK, -ML, PM362-BK, -BL, -DK, -DL, -MK, -ML, -PK,
-PL, PM369-PY, -PZ, PM371-BY, PM372-PY.

QUICK CHECK: If the firmware revision displayed during
power-up is below 5.3c, install the FCO.

The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to
install and test the FCO at the then current hourly rate.

DEC 91 - PROBLEM: This FCO is multi-purposed and will resolve several 
different problems. To name a few.
1. Not supporting, (as advertised) a tablet, puck and stylus.
2. SCSI firmware will not boot supported devices, (RRD42,Rdat,QIC)
3. Corrosive foam strips within the system enclosure that deteriorates
   the etch on the system module causing the inability to boot and or
   function properly.
SOLUTION: Installation of contents of EQ Kit (EQ-01627-01).
<<<THIS FCO, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE KN02-AA-F003 WILL SUPERSEDE THE
PREVIOUSLY PLANNED SINGLE KN02 FCO. THIS IS DUE TO THE DISCOVERY OF 
ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS THAT ARE CONSISTENT ACROSS BOTH THE 70-26722-02 
AND 70-26722-03 SYSTEM MODULES.>>>

of D02 or before will need to be replaced.

SHOULD BE SCHEDULED WITH THE CUSTOMER OR INSTALLED AT THE NEXT CUSTOMER

and rev.  Any 70-26722-02 chassis without such label OR any chassis 
showing a revision of D02 or below should be replaced.

DEC 91 - PROBLEM: This FCO is multi-purposed and will resolve several
different problems. To name a few.
1. Not supporting (as advertised) the Turbochannel VME option.
2. Experiencing unpredictable system hangs due to one of the following:
   - Overshoot on the SCSI pals
   - Overshoot on the system state pals
   - Delay line component problems
3. Non-conformance with the Turbochannel DMA specifications.
4. The foam strips within the system enclosure do not meet the required
   U.L. ratings of a substance that comes in contact with current carry-
   ing components. 

SOLUTION: Installation of contents of EQ Kit (EQ-01620-01).

THAT WILL BE UTILIZING THE TURBOCHANNEL VME OPTION. IMPORTANT: IMPLEMEN-
TATION OF THIS FCO SHOULD BE SCHEDULED WITH THE CUSTOMER OR INSTALLED AT
THE NEXT CUSTOMER VISIT.>>>
