Printer vertical pitch (ie. lpi) returns to default while using a Font selected from the Control Panel which uses a non-default Pitch. This happens when a font is reselected via the data stream. For example, if a font was selected via the Control Panel at 8 lpi entering "bold" mode via the data stream would cause a change back to 6 lpi since it would force plot mode which causes an implicit font select. 2. The printer sometimes hangs after entry of invalid data via Control Panel and processing starts. In this case, the NV RAM gets corrupted and causes the Printer to hang. 3. The Summary sheet and/or Flag page becomes corrupted after a file is sent to the printer which selects the 13.3 cpi font and then prints several lines of 160 characters in width. Subsequent summary sheets would have some of the font information corrupted and have flag page print problems. 4. Panel lock-up after paper out, platen up, and override. If a paper out error occurs and the operator raises the platen before pressing override, the printer will lock up. 5. Panel lock-up when powering up with error present. If there are any non-fatal errors present during power-up the printer will lock-up. 6. ESD blanks out the control panel. 7. When multiple (over 50) are issued in a row at 8 lpi, a false paper motion error is detected by the new Power Amp (See FCO LG02-R002). 8. When loss of power is experienced in the middle of a compressed print job, the printer will lock up after the power returns and the printer is put on-line. Quick Check: (Continued from Page 1) Print out the Printer Status Sheet: 1. Press the "off-line" key at the control panel. 2. Press the "report" key. Check for the firmware Rev. Level (top right corner of the first page). If the Rev. Level is V2.0 (F/W Revision Level V2.0) or less, then the FCO is required. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | FCO LG02-F003 | | | | | | | | | |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| | PAGE 3 OF 6 |_|_|_|_|_|_|_| | | _______________________________|_________________________________________ FIELD INSTALLATION AND TEST PROCEDURE FOR FCO LG02-F003 -------------------------------------------------------- Installation Procedure: LG02 V3.0 Firmware. ******************************************************************* * C A U T I O N * * Before proceeding, make sure that all power to the printer * * is disconnected (Turn the power switch to the "off" position, * * and unplug the power cord from the outlet). * ******************************************************************* Tools Required: o Phillips screwdriver o 29-26246-00 ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Kit o EK-0LG02-TM LG02 Technical Manual 1) Unplug the power cord from the printer. 2) Remove the rear panel of the printer as follows: o Remove the 10 plastic caps which cover the rear panel retaining screws. o Loosen the 11 retaining screws. o Lift off the rear panel. ******************************************************************* * C A U T I O N * * All of the modules in the card-cage contain electrostatic * * sensitive devices.
