_ DEC-O-LOG for LN03 _ DOL, LN03-I001, LN03 Laser Printer, APR 86 PROBLEM: The LN03 at times exhibits a Font management problem when several files which contin Fonts loads are printed/queued at the same time. The LN03 will fail to lad Fonts correctly and no text will be printed. Error 24 may flash on the control panel. Violation of the right margin can cause an unsolicited error message (41, 115) to be sent to the Host. No error will flash on the control panel. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Remove control ROMS from control board 29-24988 or 29-25334, location IC39 (#4), IC38 (#5), IC71 (#11), IC72 (#10) and replace them with 23-220E5 (IC38), 23-221E5 (IC39), 23-222E5 (IC71) and 23-223E5 (IC72). QUICK CHECK: Pres the LN03 Test Button and read Summary Test Sheet. Revision Level should read DEC004.4. This revised FCO supersedes Revision B dated 25 February 1986. It reflects changes in the rework procedure for controller board 29-25334 and the addition of P/N's 23-155E6 and 23-156E6 to the Bill of Materials. Other existing symptoms are: 1.) LASERFEEDER getting out of synchronization with the LN03 line count for whatever reason and causing the problem symptom of a page of text being split between two sheets. 2.) Footnotes being printed on the next page and a page of text being split between two sheets. 3.) Footnotes being printed on the next page and a page of text being split between two sheets. 4.) Ignoring PFC bin commands. 5.) A page being split between two sheets when a bottom margin set sequence has been used. 6.) A constant (6) being displayed by the LN03 when in Tektronix graphics mode and an extra sheet of paper fed by the feeder. 7.) A page being split between two sheets and possibly also a "Ghost Paper Jam" when a job uses PLD or PLU in manner whereby the two commands do not balance each other. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: This FCO is applicable to all LN03X-SF/SH Sheet- feeders with Firmware Rev. 2.21D or lower which exhibit any of the problem symptoms. QUICK CHECK: Place the LN03X-SF/SH offline. Run test mode "1". The status sheet printed out via the LN03 will indicate a Rev. Level of 3.0 OR the EPROM on the Interface Module is marked 890 013 030 02.
