_ DEC-O-LOG for RA90X _ DOL, RA90X-O001, (SA600) Drives APR 89 PROBLEM: Drives exhibit: 1.) Large numbers of Uncorrectable ECC errors, and 6-8 symbols in errors. 2.) Occurrence was predominately on the first 5 heads. 3.) Occurrence was presominately from cylinder 1900 thru 2649. 3.) BBR was being invoked and the blocks were being replaced about 80% of the time. FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Must be installed on all SA600/RA90 Drives running with Drive Microcode Revision 7 or earlier. QUICK CHECK: The customer applications/operations that are prone to show this syndrome are: 1.) At HSC Console, perform ">SHOW DISK". Version number is displayed as MC=8 or later. 2.) At the HSC, perform a SHOW DISKS and verify the HV and MC revisions of the drive. Each RA90 upgraded should reflect HV=17 and MC=8 (or later).
