_ DOL, RL01-S0057, RL01 Drives JUL 85

PROBLEM: The following Symptoms occur: Excessive bad blocks, 
intermittent I/O erros, inability to retrieve data, header not found 
errors, servo bust (S1) amplitude at cylinder 255, less than 500 
MV.

IN-PLANT EFFECTIVITY: NOV 84

FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Part 1.  Sections 1 thru 6: All RL01 Drives are suspect, if 
the Symptoms listed on page 2 of the FCO are encountered.  Part 2. 
Section 7.  All drives lack this Sector Transducer Flux Shield.

QUICK CHECK: None.

The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test
the FCO at the then current hourly rate.
