QUICK CHECK: Presence of the Bulkhead Mounting Bracket 74-25960-01 on the rear of the frame (lower right side). This FCO supersedes the original release of 4 June 1985 and provides the following changes: The SI Cable Bracket (74-32560-01) and the Grommet Strip (90-09718-03) have been added to the Parts List (See Page 2). The Rework Procedure (steps 3,4 and 6) has been rewritten to reflect the addition of these new parts. The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test the FCO at the then current hourly rate. One allows the Field Service Diagnostic Test #02 to be executed at any time. The second and latest microcode inhibits the running of Field Service Test #02 and indicates a Termination code 70 in the operator panel display. This code will appear, unless the Ooperator/Field Service Diagnostic Test #01 is run first and fails, and the trouble shooting procedure for the failure specifies that the Field Service Diagnostic test #02 should be executed. IN-PLANT EFFECTIVITY: SEP 84 FIELD EFFECTIVITY: All TU80's with Serial Numbers below SPF 2500 that do not display th termination code on the operator panel when the Field Service Diagnostic Test #02 is executed. QUICK CHECK: With the tape threaded but not loaded, execute the Field Service Diagnostic Test #02. Termination Code 70 appears in the operator panel display. The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test the FCO at the then current hourly rate. On both the PDP 11 and the VAX Systems, if performing read reverse commands with an odd byte count, byte four of the data appears in byte one location. IN-PLANT EFFECTIVITY: NOV 84 FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Install the FCO on an as needed basis only when the following conditions exist: 1. A customer running a TU80 on a PDP 11 is performing read commands of less than fourteen bytes or a read reverse command with an odd byte count. 2. A customer with a TU80 on a VAX, running a version VMS less than 4.1, who is performing read reverse commands with an odd byte count. QUICK CHECK: On the M7454 Module, check for the presence of ROM 23-278F3-00 at location E95. On 20MA7454, check for the presence of ROM 230278F3-00 at location 3A.
