Perform an orderly shutdown. 2. Power OFF the VAX8600, by turning the System Control Panel Terminal Control Switch to the OFF position. 3. Open the front panel door and Set the Main Circuit Breaker (CB1), of the 876A Power Controller, to the OFF position. 4. Open rear door and locate the I/O bulkhead at the rear of the CPU cabinet. *********************************************************** * * * CAUTION * * * * Be careful NOT to disturb the CI bulkhead cables when * * performing Step #5 thru Step #8. * * * *********************************************************** 5. Remove the console Async panel from the I/O bulkhead by removing the eight screws (Reference Figure #1). 7. Install the new console Async panel. 8. Reconnect the internal and external cables to the Async panel assembly. 9. Close the panel doors and the rear door of the CPU cabinet. 10. Open the front panel door and Set the Main Circuit Breaker (CB1), of the 876A, to the ON position. 11. Close the front panel door. 12. Ensure that the SCP Restart Control Switch is in the HALT position. 13. Power ON the VAX8600, by turning the SCP Terminal Control Switch to the REMOTE position. 14. Test functionality of the RTY (Remote Terminal), by doing a "Connect" thru the Console Remote Port. 15. Re-boot the operating system. 16. Have the customer verify that the system is operational. 17.
