APPLICABILITY: This "O" coded FCO must be installed 
in all DEC 4000-6XX AXP and VAXFT Model 810 
systems that contain a 20A FEU (H7884-AA).
                                                                              
This FCO incorporates ECO No.H7884-TWO003.                   

PROBLEM & SYMPTOM:                                                        
Problem: High ground currents in H7884-AA cause 
random system errors.        
                                                                              
Symptom:                                                                     
 1. DEC4000-6XX systems hang randomly.                                        
 2. DEC4000-6XX systems exhibit power-up random         
     (PSC error code 9) failures.  
 3. DEC4000-6XX systems' PSC reports fan speed errors 
     randomly.               
 4. VAXft810    systems  (see above)

SOLUTION: Install a new FEU H7884-AA (part revision 
D06).

QUICK CHECK:                                                                 
If the system contains a 20A FEU (H7884-AA, part

APPLICABILITY:  DEC4000 memories [B2002-CA & DA] 
below  revision  C01  will  not  function  in  DEC4000 
multiprocessor [SMP] configurations. This FCO applies 
ONLY  to  those  DEC4000-610  systems  to  be 
field-upgraded to SMP, where the existing memories 
are below revision C01.                                               
This FCO incorporates the following ECO:  
B2002-SH001. 		       
				       
 NOTE: SMP upgrade should not be attempted if I/O 
module  [B2101-AA] is  below  revision H,  or  if  the 
incremental current drawn by the second  CPU module 
[8.25A, 64.3W] would exceed regulator specifications        
[applies to systems with H7179 5VDC regulators (90A 
DC5)].	       
                                                                              
Check with FCO coordinators for I/O and power supply 
FCO availability. 

PROBLEM & SYMPTOM: 
Attempting to run SMP with memories below revision C01 
will result in system crashes due to [FALSE] parity errors. 
O/S error logger will indicate "Parity Errors".                                                                     

SOLUTION:                                                                    
Install B2002-CA or -DA part revision C01 in memory 
slot(s).                 

QUICK CHECK:                                                                 
Look for B2002-CA or DA part revision C01 in backplane 
slots 4-7, or at  console prompt type "show fru" and 
return. Check the hardware revision  under memory 
options(slots 4-7).

APPLICABILITY: 
This "O" coded FCO should be installed in all DEC4000  
Model 610 which contain part rev below H1 or H2 for 
FRU B2101-AA.            
                                                                            
This FCO incorporates ECO No. B2101-TWO001.	                               
                                                                              
PROBLEM & SYMPTOM: 
Previous revision FRU could experience mail box time      
out, Parity Errors, and NOACK problem. This will result in 
system crash.   O/S error logger will show  "Read Parity 
Errors". O/S error logger could  also show other errors 
like: Mailbox timeout, no acknowledge, and read data 
parity errors. At console level, type  "show error cpu0 | 
grep RD_PAR"  and "show error cpu0 | grep NOACK". 
Non zero error count will confirm Parity Errors and 
NOACK problems.		                                       
 	                                                                       
SOLUTION: 
Install B2101-AA part revision H1 or H2.	
                                                                              
QUICK CHECK:
 Look for B2101-AA part revision H1 or H2 in I/O 
backplane slot  or at console prompt type "show fru" and 
return. Check the HW rev under I/O option.
