PROBLEM: Rework Summary: 1. The "Sems Hardware" is replaced to improve 
the subchassis grounding. 2. The Electronic Cover is replaced on the 
Rackmount Units for FCC Compliance and Signal Integrity. 3. The 
Bulkhead Mounting LESI Cable) is revised for Signal Integrity and 
Noise Immunity on all Rackmount variations.

IN-PLANT EFFECTIVITY: JAN 85

FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Rework all variations of the RC25 Disk Drives.  
Replace the "Sems hardware" to improve the subchassis for grounding.  
Rework all variations of the RC25 Rackmount.  Replace the Electronics 
Module Cover and rework the Bulkhead Mtg. I/O Cable.

QUICK CHECK: Lack of Plastic Washers at Sems Hardware or presence of 
Plastic Module Cover.

The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test
the FCO at the then current hourly rate.

variations: AA, AB, BA, BB, CA, CB, FA, FB.

QUICK CHECK: Installed by the factory in RC25Drives Revision "C1" and 
above.


The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test
the FCO at the then current hourly rate.

PROBLEM: Drives may show a fault condition or corrupt customer 
data.

FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Rework all RC25 Drives, to comply with Dec Standard 
103, Section 5.0 for Electrocstatic Discharge. Rework all variations 
of RC25 Drives by replacing the Bezel Switch Assembly (P/N 
70-2066-01).

QUICK CHECK: Black conductive film strips between the lens caps of the 
Run, Write Protect, along with the metal plating (silver grey color) 
on the rear of the Bezel Assembly.

The DEC on-site labor charge will be the time required to install and test
the FCO at the then current hourly rate.

FIELD EFFECTIVITY: Rework all Drives (Rackmount, Table-top, Masters 
and Slaves) using EQ Kit 01357-02. Rework all Master Rackmount Drives 
with the new KLESI Cable using EQ Kit 01357-01. 

PROBLEM: Poor System performance due to excessive soft-error rate when 
operated in a noisy environment. 

QUICK CHECK: Corrected in the factory in Drives marked Rev "C1" and 
higher and/or the internal KLESI will be marked with P/N 
17-01150-01.

test the FCO at the then current hourly rate.
