_ FCO TA91-S001, Connector can be broken on the 60HZ power supply. ______________________________________________________________________________ | DIGITAL FCO CATEGORY PAGE 1 | | [S] OF 4 | |______________________________________________________________________________| | FIELD CHANGE ORDER NUMBER: TA91-S001 | |______________________________________________________________________________| | APPLICABILITY: This "S" coded FCO must be installed on all TA91X-AA, | | TA91X-BA, TU91-BA, TU91-DA and TU91U-DA options. This FCO incorporates | | ECO TA91-SH003 and changes the revision of the TA91-AA/BA to "D01", | | TU91BA/DA to "C01" and TU91-DA/EA to "D01". All field spares should also | | be upgraded with this FCO. | | | | | |______________________________________________________________________________| | PROBLEM & SYMPTOM: It is possible to break connector J11 on the 60Hz power | | supply. Breakage of the connector can occur if the connector cable is pulled | | on without releasing the connector locks. If this occurs, a potential safety | | hazard exists if the detached (broken) cable, which carries 208vac, makes | | contact with the power supply frame or with service personnel. | | | | | | | |______________________________________________________________________________| | SOLUTION: Retrofit the power supply using a pair of plastic connector braces.| | | |______________________________________________________________________________| | QUICK CHECK: The opening in the power supply chassis where J11 connects | | should have a pair of plastic connector braces installed or the power | | supply vpn is 61G8657. | | | |______________________________________________________________________________| | PRE/CO-REQUISITE FCO: None | MTTI HRS | | | .6 | |___________________________________________________________________|__________| | TOOL/TEST EQUIPMENT: None | | | |______________________________________________________________________________| | FCO PARTS INFORMATION | |______________________________________________________________________________| | FCO KIT NO. | DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS | |______________|_______________________________________________________________| |EQ-01667-01 | 1 Connector Brace, 22-11840-01 | | | | |FA-05004-01 | FA Document | |______________|_______________________________________________________________| | FCO CHARGING INFORMATION (See Last Page) | |______________________________________________________________________________| | APPROVALS | |______________________________________________________________________________| |TECH. No safety hazard exists unless connector J11 on the TA91/TU91 60HZ power supply is broken. Installation Procedure: 1) Verify that you have the connector braces listed on Page 1 of this document. 2) Refer to Figure 1 for locations and connector brace positioning. 3) Unload all tape cartridges in the drive. 4) Turn the AC breaker (1) to the OFF position for the power supply to be upgraded with the connector braces. 5) Gain access to connector J11 and pull out the cable connector attached to it. 6) Install a brace (2) above and below connector J11 as shown in Figure 1. The braces should "snap" into place. 7) Reconnect the cable removed in Step 5. 8) Turn the AC circuit breaker (1) to ON for the power supply which has been upgraded. 9) Repeat Steps 4 through 8 for all affected power supplies in the tape drive. 10) Report this FCO activity on the LARS form in the "Fail Area/ Module/FCO/Comments" column as follows: FCO TA91-S001 (See LARS example on the next page) +---------------------------+ | | | | | | | | | | FCO TA91-S001 | d | i | g | i | t | a | l | | | | | | | | | | | PAGE 3 OF 4 +---------------------------+ | _________________________________|______________________________________ Figure 1 +---------------------------+ | | | | | | | | | | FCO TA91-S001 | d | i | g | i | t | a | l | | | | | | | | | | | PAGE 4 OF 4 +---------------------------+ | _________________________________|______________________________________ LARS USA GIA EUROPE Activity - (a)Contract W U K Warranty W U W (b)IN-DEC Contract K U A Non Contract/Non Warranty W W F (c)RTD/Off-site Agreement W W F Hardware Segment Code 111 111 111 Product Line 031 031 DEC Option TA91/TU91 TA91/TU91 TA91/TU91 Option ID X N/A N/A Type of Call M M M Action Taken D D I or V Fail Area-Module-FCO- Comments TA91-S001 TA91-S001 TA91-S001 Material Used EQ-01667-01 EQ-01667-01 EQ-01667-01 (a) Warranty Optimum, Warranty Standard and Warranty Basic (on-site) Agreements; * Note material (only) free of charge for all customers.
